Just wanted to thank everybody for their support in 2009. I couldn’t have been asked for a better group of colleagues, fans, and team to help get my music out to the masses. I’m gonna drop this project I actually wrote and recorded in a week while living in LA last summer before I did The Antidote [mixtape with Alchemist.] I chose to hold off on it for a while, but feel 2010 is the perfect time to let my fans hear it. Here’s a little taste of it.
Shout outs to Green Lantern for lacing me with instrumentals, to Large Pro for helping me get what is almost impossible to get and to one of the best poets to ever live who inspired me to do what I do. Look for more music, collabs and shows for 2010. God Bless and Thanks again.

Jay Electronica: Tribute to MJ
"I made this because i have loved Michael Jackson all of my life. All of my memories from about 5 years old or so (which is about as far back as i remember with some ease) can be tied to or associated with or landmarked by some musical contribution of Michael Jackson at that time. From then, all the way to now. He is a dark fingerprint on a very large part of who I am and who most of the people I know personally are. And thats why i posted this picture along with this song. The response to this song is amazing, and overwhelming and i appreciate all of the love and support it is recieving from everywhere. And i dedicate all of this positive energy toward a Great Hero of mine (although not perfect) who has performed many miracles in his physical life and who has and will be for many moons continue to be a glowing light in the dark for those who see something better inside of themselves and have the will and desire to pursue it. Evolution. May our good works be recorded and duplicated, and may our sins be recorded and forgiven.
Amen
-Jay

Diamond District- I Mean Business (Remix)
Washington D.C. trio Diamond Distric dedicated its debut to one of hip hop’s most treasured eras. For many purests this is what is missing from current hip hop - cutthroat street rap with chilling samples and dirty organic drums. Y.U., Odissee and X.O. claim that D.C. missed the boat on contributing to the 90s east coast canon, so their debut is a stimulus package.

T.I.--a free man!!
At a hearing this afternoon, T.I. was finally freed on $3 million bond while he awaits his weapons trial, according to the Associated Press. U.S. Magistrate Judge Alan Baverman said the rapper must remain under house arrest and will be monitored 24 hours a day by a private monitoring service that he is paying for. Upon his release, the judge reportedly said, “You shouldn’t do anything that will undermine their ability to represent you.” If convicted, Tip could face up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each count.

Nas' Mike Tyson Tribute Up For Oscar Consideration
Nas hasn't been considered the underdog in a battle since his beef with then-foe Jay-Z back in 2001. This time around, the Queens rapper hopes that the lyrical punches he threw for Mike Tyson's documentary, Tyson, help earn him an Academy Awards nomination.
On Jan. 12, 2010, the Academy will screen 63 contenders for the Original Song category, including Nas' "Legendary." God's Son will have some stiff competition, though. Among some of the potential nominees are South African boy band Overtone's "Colorblind" in the Clint Eastwood directed Invictus, actress Kate Hudson's "Cinema Italiano" in Rob Marshall's musical Nine and Karen O and The Kids for Spike Jonze's big-screen take on Where the Wild Things Are. The chosen nominees will be announced Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, at 5:30 a.m. PT from the Academy's Samuel
Goldwyn Theater.

Raekwon to reunite w/ Dr. Dre?
When it was announced years ago that Raekwon The Chef was now on Dr. Dre’s Aftermath label, everybody was hyped. However like most Aftermath signings the end result was…nothing. But unlike Stat Quo, Rakim, Cashis, and a host of other people who were on the label and disappeared, Rae kept up the fight and released what most consider a classic album with his Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2 earlier this year. The album sold good and has had received praise from sources as varied as this very web site to even Time Magazine. Now it is being said that Dre realizes the colossal mistake he made by not putting out a Rae album and has been trying to get Rae back over to Aftermath! Supposedly the talk started between the two about a month or so after OB4CL2 was released but I’m just hearing about it now. And the answer is…? I’m hearing so far that Rae is saying no and would rather stay getting that independent money than risk sitting on the shelf for another two years. Hey Dre you win some, you lose some. Now for Detox…?

LAGUNA WOODS, Calif. -- It's the last place you might expect to find hundreds of people smoking pot: But seniors living at the Laguna Woods Village retirement community -- also known as "Leisure World" -- have formed a non-profit, patient-run medical marijuana collective.
"A group of patients got together and decided we'd try to grow our own and make it available for our neighbors who also have doctor recommendations, but are too ill to grow," said Lonnie Painter, a resident and member of the Laguna Woods for Medical Cannabis Collective.
